First, let me thank you all for commenting last week. I have had very unreliable internet access for more than a week. I’m frantically posting this before I lose my connection again.
I just got my first round edits back for January Black, so I’d like to share some on SSS. JB is currently scheduled for a January release (won’t that be awesome if it makes it?) This six is the opening of the novel.
A folded sheet of paper lay on Matty’s pillow. Iris cursed and kicked off the covers. She didn’t bother reading the note; she knew what it would say. I’m sorry. Someone has to do it. Fearing she had lost him again, this time forever maybe, she pulled on the clothes nearest to her—his shirt and boxers—and tore barefoot through the hallways of his building.
Please check out the other talented writers participating in this week’s Six Sentence Sunday. These are some of my favorites: Sarah Ballance, Krystal Wade, Monica Enderle Pierce, Siobhan Muir, Sarah W., Pippa Jay, Kelly Seguin, Steven Montano, and Goran Zidar.

Intriguing opening. I wondered what he was going to do.
I hope she catches him before it’s too late. Or that she misunderstood his message. Sad and tense. I love it!
Hooks you right in! Great 6!
Yep, great opening hook.
Great opening! Draws you right in to it.
I agree, great opening. Very dynamic and shows us there’s a boatload of history between these two characters. Nice!
Great start.
Curious beginning. What does he have to do? And why does he need to apologize? Good six, Wendy. Thanks so much for the mention.
Someone needs to do what?! More, please!
Intense, creates a terrific sense of urgency and impending doom, excellent excerpt!
Well what happens next??? We all wanna know! Great 6!
I have a feeling she should read the note! great 6!!
